Houston Trades: Patrick Corbin, SP, (6M 2017) to Dallas Bartolo Colon, SP, (1M 2015) to Dallas Archie Bradley, SP, (PROSPECT) to Dallas Braden Shipley, SP, (PROSPECT) to Dallas
Dallas Trades: Josh Donaldson, 3B, (14.1M 2018) to Houston
Astros accept.
This is the beginning of our chips getting pushed into the table. We want to win now, while still retaining the services of Giolito and Syndergaard. We believe that we can afford a minor hit to our pitching staff in order to fill an important mid-lineup hole. Additionally, we believe that Bradley will continue to have injury problems and we dislike having two upper-tier pitchers on the same team, thus our desire to hand both off.

Rangers accept.
After reworking another deal with Astros which soon will be finalized, we will now accept this deal. Losing Donaldson would be a big loss, but we get the pitching depth that we crave for. We will take a gamble on Corbin, he is still young enough to bounce back from that TJ surgery. While Colon won't get any younger he is still a pretty good pitcher for a number 4/5. And we also get 2 top pitching prospects in Bradley and Shipley. Bradley was considered the best pitching prospects in 2013, and we like Shipley's ability to get ground balls.
Dallas wins huge. He gives up an extremely expensive 3B, who you could say is on the decline of his career, for 2 top 50 prospects, a very young, high potential arm in Corbin, and a solid contributer in Bartolo Colon. In three years, this trade could easily be 3 top 50 pitchers for a middling/nowhere 3B. Had it been just one of those prospects along with Corbin and Colon, then, it may have been ok. But definitely no need to include two such high ceiling arms. Huge steal for Dallas.

Approve. I thinks its a fair deal Houston is getting a couple top prospects a SP in Colon who will at least be solid. Corbin was an all-star before injury and still young so he could return to form. On the other hand Donaldson should excel in TOR with all of those bats around him.
