Houston Trades: Salvador Perez, C, KC, (6.2M 2019) to Denver Lucas Duda, 1B, NYM, (7.2M 2018) to Denver
Denver Trades: Ben Zobrist, (2B, SS, OF), OAK, (9.5M 2017) to Houston Noah Syndergaard, P, NYM, (Prospect) to Houston Matthew Olson, 1B, OAK, (Prospect) to Houston
Astros accept.
We believe that there is only one thing in baseball that you can't have enough of, and that's right handed arms. While we do give up Duda, who had a career best season last year, we also believe that that season will *remain* his career best season. For us, this is a classic example of buy-low sell-high. Not only do we get the quintessential utility player in Zobrist, we also get the #2 right handed arm in the minors, along with a hard hitting first baseman who has Ike Davis (lol) as his competition for a big league spot. In short, we believe that we can't lose here, unless both prospects flame out.

Denver accepts.
Replace an old Russell Martin with a young Sal Perez. Absolutely. Plug in a young 1B thumper for who knows which Joey Votto will show up this year. Absolutely. Unload some Zobrist cap space to make it happen. Absolutely. And, prospects are, well, just prospects.
